Not many people know that Coco Chanel allegedly designed the Chanel jacket in the early 1920s, inspired by a “traditional” short jacket. It is not uncommon for traditional costume to provide elements that can be found in fashion.
With “Naomi” in light taupe, we thought of Coco Chanel and used elements such as the edging and its stabilization through attractive applications in the form of embroidery. The body of the cardigan is knitted in an ajour diamond pattern into which we have incorporated the waistline. It was a technical challenge to integrate this skilfully into the knitting pattern.
The design of the lighter contrasting edging is sublime and beautiful with raised crocheted meandering, bobbles and embroidered chiffon ribbons.
